A Belief In The After Life Has Many Benefits

A Belief In The After Life Has Many Benefits
By Steve Hill

This article looks at peoples belief in the after life and how it can help them to live their daily lives. My nan was one of these people who felt certain that there was a life beyond this one. I will explain why she had this belief. She was a remarkable character who was seemingly not afraid of anything.

I have to say that I have never really had any clear idea of whether to believe or not to believe, in the after life. I certainly believe that there is a God and that there is only one God. Whether this is correct, I will no doubt find out at a later date.

One day, I had a strange experience. I went to visit my nan who lived in a flat on her own. Her husband (my grandad) had died around fifteen years before from a heart attack. I would ensure that I would go to visit my nan at least once a week. It was not exactly a chore as she was a very funny and interesting person.

On this particular day she started to talk about her health and explained to me that she was sure that she did not have long to live. She had a number of health problems as I am sure many people in their eighties do. These issues were gradually becoming worse and made her believe that the end was near. As it happens she was correct.

I tried to convince her that she was wrong and that in fact she would live until she was a hundred. I advised her that I felt she should be more positive and to keep her chin up. She noticed that I was a little worried and told me not to panic and that she knew that she was heading for a better place.

What are you on about? I asked. She continued that she knew for a fact that there was an after life and that she was actually looking forward to going there. She was not afraid of dying and had basically had enough of life, as she was always tired and had very little to look forward to.

How do you know that there is an after life? Do not be alarmed, Steve, she said. Your grandad comes and visits me every week and has told me all about it. I know it is hard for you to believe but it is true. When I die Steve, do not be too upset for too long. Be happy for me and be safe in the knowledge that we will meet up again in the future.

My nan died around six months later and I really hope that she has been able to once again meet up with my grandad and other people like her parents of course.

Having a belief in the after life gave my nan a piece of mind and something to look forward to. It also made her not have a fear of death.

I have to admit that I know also believe in the after life, however I am in no rush to go there as yet. I have many more articles to write first!

10 Steps to Christian Success

10 Steps to Christian Success
By Sean Mize

1)Spend time with Jesus Christ every single day. I cannot stress that enough for the success minded Christian. So often we spend our time working on things that have no bearing on our future christian success (nor any current success value) because we havent taken the time to focus and understand what Jesus Christ wants for our lives and our success.

2)Study the Word and discover what the top five (or six) christian success priorities in your life should be. For example, for you it might be: Christ, spouse, children, work, retirement. For another, it might be: Christ, a hobby, work, retirement, missions work. And for yet another: Christ, spouse, work, a hobby, physical fitness. For each of you, christian success priorities might be a little different in the number 4, 5, or (6) spots, but the first two or three are probably Christ and family. Once you know your success priorities, you are ready for step 3)

3)Develop a progress plan for each of your areas of top success priority. When you look at your life six months from now, especially in these areas of success priority, you should be further along and better adapted in each of these areas than you are today. Look back six months ago. Have you improved in each of your success priority areas? If not, you need to take action. Now.

4)Find a christian success mentor. This success mentor should be someone who can be concerned primarily for your personal growth in these areas of success priority. This should not be someone who is an equal with you---someone who also confides in you. This should be a one-way street. They should be able to listen to your success priorities, help you develop a game plan for meeting them, and be able to criticize you when you arent doing what you game plan to do. Because of that, they should probably not be someone with whom you are close emotionally, like a best friend or spouse. They should be a more neutral party, perhaps someone from a small group class at church or someone recommended to you by your pastor.

5)Break each of your success priorities down into individual goal steps. These steps should be small enough that you can focus on that one step at a time and they shouldnt be too hard to accomplish individually, and yet when you have completed all of the steps you have gained significant ground in your priority for the given period, e.g. six months.

6)Write down all of your success priorities and your goal steps for accomplishing them. Leave room next to each goal step to write the date you started the goal step and the date you finished it. At the end of the six months (and during it too) you will be able to specifically track your progress.

7)Eliminate unnecessary things in your life which do not help you accomplish your success priorities. Try unplugging the TV three nights a week until your success priorities are accomplished. Have an email free day of the week. Take Sunday off from everything. If the telephone is an incessant nuisance, turn it off two nights a week.

8)Evaluate your restare you getting enough sleep? What can you do to get more sleep? What about recreation (non-TV)? Are you walking, hiking, reading, meeting with friends regularly? Are you spending enough time with your family without interruptions by the phone or work? Do what it takes to get rest and recreation and include the family in this step.

9)Evaluate your success regularly. There isnt much that substitutes for assessing your progress last week and making goals for the coming week. Sure, some weeks you will fall short, but in others you will easily meet your personal success expectations. As you follow these 10 steps, setting success priorities, making goal steps, and following through on all of it will get easier.

10)Just do it! Start somewhere, start today! Dont just close this page and forget all this! You took the time to read this; if you do nothing with it you will continue to fall short of your own personal expectations.

Your Time is Valuable...Stop Wasting It!

Your Time is Valuable...Stop Wasting It!
By Steven M Hall

We all know that time is one of the most valuable resources that we do not have the luxury to waste for. Unlike money, gold and other material things, the time we spend can never be recovered. It is therefore important to use and manage our time wisely.

One of the biggest time wasters in peoples lives is procrastination. We all know what it is. Most people tend to delay doing things that should have been done a long time ago. When we continue to procrastinate, success will always be elusive in our lives. People who take action are those that will usually get ahead in life.

It may be hard to break procrastination because it is a behavior learned early in life and is hard wired into our subconscious mind.

To break the habit of procrastination, start doing the task at hand immediately. When there is something that needs to be done, start doing it right away. Do not wait until you are in the mood for doing it...that time will most likely never come.

Starting to do things immediately will effectively break the old habit of procrastination. You can start with the easy tasks and finish these first. Once the easy tasks are out of the way, you will start to feel good about your accomplishments and this will spark your mood to do more.

Do not aim for perfection when doing the task at hand. What matters most is getting started and then you can gain momentum to finish the greater jobs ahead. Always pursuing perfection to great detail is a waste of your time.

Write down your plan. It is very effective to have a daily plan because you can see which things are most important and which need to be addressed immediately. By writing down your plan, you can be more productive and actually save time by not doing the unnecessary and/or less important tasks.

And be sure when writing down your plan to make a schedule of what you will be doing for the entire day. This should include all the activities that you will do from the beginning to the end of the day.

Finally, set a deadline for your planned activities, making sure that you can finish the job at hand within the established time frame. Don't let a few small failures along the way derail your plan. Put procrastination where it belongs...under your feet!

The HowTo Guide to Goal Setting

The How-To Guide to Goal Setting
By Tom Palange

Financial goals are important because they help you achieve the things you want. Goals such as vacations, paying off a debt or buying a car all require planning, patience and the willingness to work hard at saving your hard-earned dollars. There are three types of goals you should sit down and consider:

Short-term goals: These are goals you should be able to accomplish within one month to a year.Items such as: taking a vacation, buying a new car, or paying off a debt are all items that fit within this category.

Mid-term goals: These are goals you should plan to accomplish within one to five years. Goals such as paying of credit cards, making a major purchase, or remodeling your home can all fit within this category, based on your financial picture.

Long-term goals: These are goals that will take you five years or more to achieve, such as buying a home, saving for retirement or saving for college.
Your goals must be realistic and you must specify a completion date. For example, if you lease a vehicle and find that your lease payment is causing financial strain, a possible mid-term goal might be as simple as deciding to buy a less expensive car in 3 years at the end of my lease. Also try reviewing your goals every now and then, and make adjustments. It is ok to be flexible with your goals. Simply taking the time to think about your goals and putting them on paper is the first step to making them a reality.

The Success Secret of Daily Practice

The Success Secret of Daily Practice
By John Watson

Practice may seem to be a very obvious 'secret' of success in most walks of life but it is often anything but obvious because the practitioner seems to do his or her thing so easily and spontaneously. They appear to be so talented that they can improvise brilliantly without the help of rehearsal.

On closer examination, the performance is far from easy. It follows hours and hours of daily practice and rehearsal.

Recently Lilia Kopylova won the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing' program partnered by England fast bowler, Darren Gough. She made her performances seem easy. She also achieved miracles in teaching Darren to be a competent partner.

However, Lilia has been training every day for years. She began dancing when she was nine and initially trained in Ballet, Gymnastics and Ice-Skating (which she began aged four and went on to become a Moscow champion in figure skating). It is no wonder that she can put in stunning dance performances.

Darren, had much less time - a few months - in which to learn to dance but he put in hours and hours of concentrated practice with the added benefit of Lilia's tuition.

Recently Robert Ringer has written a brilliant article on the power of 'orchestration' i.e. detailed rehearsal and practice.

He is a great speaker himself and has noticed how other great speakers give apparently flawless performances which appear to be the result of natural ability. He has realized, however, that these great speeches are anything but spontaneous.

He was so impressed by a speech by Zig Ziglar that he went to listen to him again. He was amazed to hear that the words and sentences were exactly the same. So was the body language. He also noticed that Anthony Robbins has his own sound man at all his speaking gigs. Speech and sound are carefully coordinated.

I heard Robbins in London at his fire walk seminar in Docklands. I, too, noticed huge banks of sound equipment at the back of the hall with a sound man always in charge.

Robbins appeared spontaneous and dynamic but he must have rehearsed his speech and delivery with his sound man many times before he finally appeared on stage.

Some performers have so much natural talent that they think they can get away without practising. However, they are taking a big risk. Practice can make a natural performer great. Lack of practice can make him or her look mediocre.

The above gives us all hope. Someone without natural ability can give a presentable performance if they practice enough. They can even appear talented. Practice can almost create talent.

I have often noticed in the martial arts that the people who practice regularly and with determined effort can put in competent performances at their grading.

They can focus all their energies on the required moves rather than on wondering what they should be doing next.

As they increase the speed of their well rehearsed moves, they can even begin to appear talented.

I have seen talented performers floundering because they had not put in the necessary practice.

People who worry about performing in public should stop worrying and start practising. Daily practice can work miracles and can create its own talent.

10 Steps to Achieving Your Goals

10 Steps to Achieving Your Goals
By Brian Bartes

The ability to set goals and to develop a plan for the accomplishment of those goals is arguably the most important ingredient of success.

Mastering this skill will enable you to achieve your dreams faster than you ever thought possible.

The goal-achieving system below is a powerful, yet simple strategy that can be used to help you achieve anything in life that you desire.

1.Set your goal. The first step is to find a goal that is big enough to inspire you. Unless you are truly inspired to accomplish the goal, it is just a wish. By calling it a goal, you are affirming that (a) you desire it intensely, (b) you truly believe in your ability to achieve your goal and (c) you are willing to pay the price in advance for achieving your goal.

2.Write down your goal. Writing out your goal stimulates the filtering part of your brain, called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). When you write down your goal, the RAS begins collecting relevant information, then sends results to the conscious part of your mind. It acts ehind the scenes, causing you to become aware of opportunities that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Make sure that the goal is positive, is written in the present tense, is action-oriented, and is specific and as detailed as possible.

3.Establish a deadline for the achievement of your goal. By setting a deadline, your subconscious is activated to ensure the achievement of your goal within the prescribed time frame. If you follow all the steps in this process, and your projections are realistic, then you will achieve your goal by the deadline.

4.Determine how you will benefit from achieving the goal. You will only be compelled to achieve your goal if it is something that inspires you, something that causes such intense desire in you that you are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish your goal. By writing down the reasons you want to achieve your goal, youll discover how intense your desire really is.

5.Identify what stands between you and your goal. There will probably be several elements standing between you and your goal. Make a list of these challenges, and rank them in order of priority. Then, begin taking action to remove each of the elements that stands in the way of the accomplishment of your goal.

6.Design an action plan for accomplishing your goal. This detailed plan will encompass everything that you have done in the previous steps. Write out all the steps that you will have to take, and rank them in order of priority. Assign target dates for each step.

7.Visualize your goal as already having been accomplished. Review your goal daily. Also, the more detailed you can make you vision, the more powerful it will be.

8.Affirm your goal as already having been accomplished. Every day, read your goal either silently or aloud. Repeat it to yourself, over and over again.

9.Resolve to take massive action toward the achievement of your goal. Persistence and determination will keep you on the success track anytime obstacles try to stand in your way. By taking continuous action, you will eventually reach the point where nothing can stop you.

10.Take one specific action every day to propel you toward your goal. By taking continuous action, you develop the necessary discipline and momentum that you will need to achieve your goals.

Any worthwhile goal requires sustained effort. By consisting applying the methods above, you will develop the success habits that will enable you to achieve any goal that you desire.

10 Simple Things you can do Right Now to Achieve Success

10 Simple Things you can do Right Now to Achieve Success
By Tom Ordez

#1) Define what success means to you. What do you need to have done and achieved to consider yourself successful? Write it down, memorise it, and look at it often.

#2) Rid yourself of negative thoughts and pessimistic views. These create mental barriers in your life.

#3) Engage in communal wishing (see disclaimer). Support from a handful of friend is great but with the support network of thousands wishing you success you will be energised and opportunistic. Success will seem flow to you almost effortlessly.

Plan

#4) Document a plan to success and break in into simple realistic steps with milestones and timeframes. Many small steps lead to success, dont worry too much about the detail, sometimes the answers to problems will not arrive until you get there. Also, the plan is not set in concrete you can change it as often as you like as long as youre heading towards your goal for success.

#5) Discuss the plan with anyone that may be affected by it. Family and friends can be the biggest barrier to success. They must understand and support what you are trying to achieve.

#6) Organise your life to compliment the plan. Time and focus are critical if you are to make any progress on any plan. You may need to re-prioritise what is important to you. Stop watching that favourite TV show, use your lunch breaks to work on your plan, take your plan with you on the road so every spare minute is not wasted, e.g. in a waiting room at the doctors.

Execution

#7) Concentrate of the task that you can do today. Do not worry about the task tomorrow nor the accomplishments of yesterday.

#8) Ensure you enjoy every day of your plan. Cross out the steps you have completed and focus on the how you now have one less task ahead of you.

#9) Dont loose focus. Your plan is the same now as it was when you wrote it. You are closer to achieving it and you have probably learnt a lot. Although there are times on a journey when you are tempted to give up, it is the overcoming of these times that will help define the sense of achievement for you later.

Achievement

#10) Always celebrate your achievements, ensure you celebrate with others and take time afterwards to reflect on your journey.

Tom Ordez is the founder of http://www.WishMeSuccess.com a fun and interactive organisation engaged in positively changing the success of its community members through communal wishing. Tom has been labelled the father of communal wishing with his idea of using common bank bills psychometrically imprinted with positive wishes to change the success of its future holder.
